How to remove manufacturers without losing authority on search engines

Occasionally, companies stop working with other companies, it happens

Step 1  - Make a list of manufacturers who will be removed.

Step 2  - Make a list of URL’s associated with those manufacturers. (Manufacturer pages and Product Pages)

Step 3 - Remove any static links to those URLs from the rest of your site. (contextual links, sidebars, footers, navigation menu’s…etc.)

Step 4 - Create a 301 redirect from each old URL to a new URL to prevent broken links and 404 page errors.

Step 5 - Test each redirect individually to be sure the old URL goes to the new URL

Step 6 - Remove the old manufacturer’s products from your catalog.

Step 7 - Rebuild and resubmit your sitemap to Google & Bing
